Oak Parquet block restoration in North Wales

The original oak parquet blocks were very loose across the whole floor but the customer was very keen to preserve the original floor.

We started by uplifting the oak parquet blocks, vacuuming and then gluing the blocks back down with bitumen adhesive.  It is important that the appropriate adhesive is used to ensure that the blocks adhere correctly.  We like FBall woodblock adhesive.

After the blocks were glued down we sanded the floor to 120 grit and finished with 2 coats of Rubio Monocoat oil in ‘Pure’ to enhance the natural warm tones of the oak.
