Our Showroom
At the heart of our showroom sits our bespoke wood collection — a curated range of premium hardwood floors, crafted in the UK and designed to be entirely your own. From the species and grade to the finish and board width, every detail can be tailored to suit your home and your vision. For those who want something truly personal, this is where it begins.
Alongside our bespoke offering, we proudly stock Ted Todd — one of the finest names in engineered wood — as well as our carefully chosen LVT collections from Floorify and Brampton Chase. Every floor in our showroom has been hand-selected by our team, drawing on over 24 years of expertise, so you can browse with confidence knowing that everything you see meets our exacting standards.
Our large-format sample boards give a genuinely accurate sense of how a floor will look and feel in a finished space. We also encourage you to take samples home — seeing a floor in your own light, alongside your furnishings and décor, makes all the difference.
We’d love to welcome you for a showroom appointment. Bring your paint swatches, cabinet doors or any inspiration you’ve gathered — our team will use them to help design a floor that feels as though it was always meant to be there. Our relaxed, family-friendly space means younger visitors are well looked after too, so you can take your time over a coffee and give the decision the attention it deserves.
We also offer a complimentary home visit, where we bring samples directly to you and carry out a thorough technical assessment — including humidity and moisture checks — to ensure your floor is installed to perfection and built to be enjoyed for decades to come.
Our Story
“We are delighted to still be family owned and run after 24 years in the wood flooring business. Living Floors original showroom was born in Chester in 1997 and created by my parents Blair and Eleanor Smillie. Along with my brother, Fraser, I have worked in the business since 2005, learning every aspect from creative design to unloading delivery lorries!
In 1997 my father, Blair, was working in Sweden and saw the gap in the market for a wood flooring specialist in the UK. The timing was perfect with the boom in DIY TV such as ‘Changing Rooms’ and we have never looked back. Not only did the new trend for wood flooring look superb, it was also practical so its popularity has grown.
Living Floors is proud to be completely independent and this allows us to work with all the top brands such as Ted Todd, Quickstep, Kahrs, Brooks Bros, Taylor Maxwell and more. If we don’t have it in our showroom we will source your perfect floor.
We develop close relationships with our customers and treat them as family.”

We do not work on commission and will spend time with you looking at all of the wood flooring options discussing your lifestyle, type of property and interior style to help to choose your perfect wood floor.
