Our Showroom
Our superb showroom showcases large samples of flooring from top brands such as Ted Todd and Quickstep. We hand select all of the wood, laminate and vinyl floors based on over 24 years of experience; all you have to do is choose your perfect floor.
The large sample boards are fabulous at giving a real feel of the finished flooring and we can always provide samples for you to take home, it is so valuable to be able to look at products in your own environment.
Why not book a showroom appointment to discuss your project in depth? Bring along your paint swatches, cabinet doors and any other decor ideas so that we can design your perfect floor. Our family friendly showroom even has a fun children’s corner so that you can enjoy a coffee and concentrate on choosing the perfect floor!
We also provide a free home visit estimate service where we can bring samples to your home and take a more technical look at the job, checking humidity levels and floor moisture to ensure a perfect installation and a floor that you can enjoy for many years to come.
Our Story
“We are delighted to still be family owned and run after 24 years in the wood flooring business. Living Floors original showroom was born in Chester in 1997 and created by my parents Blair and Eleanor Smillie. Along with my brother, Fraser, I have worked in the business since 2005, learning every aspect from creative design to unloading delivery lorries!
In 1997 my father, Blair, was working in Sweden and saw the gap in the market for a wood flooring specialist in the UK. The timing was perfect with the boom in DIY TV such as ‘Changing Rooms’ and we have never looked back. Not only did the new trend for wood flooring look superb, it was also practical so its popularity has grown.
Living Floors is proud to be completely independent and this allows us to work with all the top brands such as Ted Todd, Quickstep, Kahrs, Brooks Bros, Taylor Maxwell and more. If we don’t have it in our showroom we will source your perfect floor.
We develop close relationships with our customers and treat them as family.”

We do not work on commission and will spend time with you looking at all of the wood flooring options discussing your lifestyle, type of property and interior style to help to choose your perfect wood floor.
If you opt for a Living Floors installation or use our floor sanding service then we will always call to confirm dates, arrival times for fitters and generally ensure a smooth job.
