Unlike solid oak, engineered oak flooring is designed to cope with better with environments such as conservatories where heat and moisture may cause problems such as expansion and contraction.
This type of board is also ideal for those looking to install a floor over a concrete base as fitting is much easier and less additional materials are required. Engineered wood is also a sound, ecological choice as less hardwood is used to produce each board.
